CNM

The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) is the largest public research institution in Spain and the third largest in Europe, with a total staff of more than 15000 people.

The project is performed at the Barcelona Microelectronics Institute (IMB) of the National Microelectronics Center (CNM). The main activity of IMB-CNM is research and development, mainly oriented towards applied research in the fields of silicon-based micro and nano technologies, devices and systems. Its mission is to improve the knowledge and to contribute to the implementation of solutions based in these technologies in new products, for solving societal challenges. Typical application fields include health, agro-food, environment and energy-transport. IMB-CNM was established in 1985 and has a staff of about 180 persons. Its integrated micro- and nano-fabrication clean room is one of the large-scale scientific and technological facilities (ICTS) in Spain. It has the capability of fabricating integrated circuits with CMOS technology and includes microsystem-specific and nanofabrication processes. The facility includes electronic system design and characterization services.
