Servicio Andaluz De Salud

SAS

The Andalusian Health Service (SAS) is an autonomous public healthcare provider linked to the Regional Ministry of Health of the Government of Andalusia. Its mission is to provide a quality public healthcare to citizens. Virgen Macarena and Virgen del Rocío University Hospitals in Seville are the hospitals from this organization involved in the project.

The Integrated Healthcare Unit (UCAMI) and the Health Informatics R&D Group of VM-VRUH will develop SAS activities within the Hearten project.

UCAMI, evolved from the Internal Medicine Department, has turned into an innovative model of the Andalusian Public Healthcare System (SSPA) with national and international relevance in the planning, organization and healthcare resources management aimed at the integrative attention, the continuity of healthcare delivery besides its ability to generate and transfer knowledge and promote innovation in healthcare delivery. It is a pioneer entity in Spain in the definition, attention and monitoring of polypathological patients with comorbidities and functional limitations backed up by many scientific publications.

It has the support of the Health Informatics R&D Group of VM-VRUH, with relevant experience in health informatics standards, clinical information modelling, interoperability, telemedicine (telestroke, teleconsultation of cardiological pathology, etc), decision support in breast cancer, virtual reality in surgery, speech recognition, and natural language processing, among others. Furthermore, our researchers have expressed their commitment with the EIP AHA B3 (Integrated Care) Action Group as part of the PITES (Spanish consortium).
